How Inclusion Score is Calculated #
Every document’s inclusion score starts at 100, and is reduced by 1 point for every occurrence of the following:
- Exclusion Suggestion
- Masculine Gender Influencer Suggestion
- Language Accessibility Suggestion
- every Reading Grade Level over 10
- every 1/100 of a sentiment point below 0.70
Feminine Gender Influencers and Reading Time are not factored in the inclusion score.
Why Aren’t Feminine Gender Influencers Factored in the Inclusion Score? #
Despite how it may appear, this is not intended to promote one gender over others. Feminine Gender Influencers do not count against the inclusion score because research has found that they generally don’t discourage men from applying for roles. Conversely, Masculine Gender Influencers do, statistically speaking, discourage women from applying.
Evolved Studio’s goal is to help make a posting that is appealing to as diverse an array of candidates as possible. Feminine influencers are likely to only have a positive effect on the diversity of the applicant pool.
Why Isn’t Reading Time Factored in the Inclusion Score? #
While reading time is a useful metric to help ensure a document stays short and digestible, reading grade level already factors document complexity into the inclusion score. Including them both would effectively double-count complexity issues.
